Tragedy at Chengcing Lake in Kaohsiung: Woman Found Drowned, No Signs of Life

A tragedy occurred today (20th) at Chengcing Lake in Kaohsiung City. Around 5:00 PM, a member of the public spotted a woman floating in the lake. Emergency services (119) responded and retrieved her from the water. Unfortunately, the 73-year-old woman, surnamed Sung, showed no signs of life. Police are currently investigating the cause of death.

At 5:00 PM, the 119 emergency service and Renwu Police Precinct received a report that a woman was seen floating face-down in the water near Fuguo Island at Chengcing Lake in Niaosong District. Police arrived to secure the scene, while firefighters carried out the rescue operation. The woman, surnamed Sung, was pulled from the water but had no vital signs.

Initial investigations by the police found no obvious external injuries, no signs of a struggle, and no personal belongings left at the scene. Authorities have requested a forensic examination by the prosecutor to determine the cause of death.
